A premium modest web platform and automated event ticketing system for a Kano-based youth non-profit.
Before the launch of the platform, Jannah Jewels faced several operational challenges: • Credibility Gap: Operating solely via social media (Instagram, WhatsApp) limited the organization’s ability to establish institutional trust with corporate sponsors and partners. • Manual Ticketing Overhead: Staff manually collected payments, compiled attendee lists, and sent confirmations, leading to long processing delays. • Lack of Islamic Scheduling Context: The youth demographic in Kano tracks both civic (Gregorian) and religious (Hijri) calendars. Traditional platforms do not support Hijri timelines, making it difficult for attendees to plan events around religious observances (e.g., the "White Days" of fasting). • Disconnected Operations: Crowdfunded donations, project showcases, and volunteer sign-ups were scattered across external Google Forms and third-party links, fracturing the user experience.
The Solution
We designed and built a cohesive digital experience combining: 1. Modest Modernism Design System: A visual language blending "Apple-like" simplicity with editorial typography (Playfair Display) and corporate credibility (Midnight Navy and Deep Teal jewel tones). 2. Dual Hijri-Gregorian Calendar: A custom interactive schedule overlaying Islamic lunar dates on top of Gregorian dates to provide cultural relevance and scheduling accuracy. 3. Automated Checkout & Ticketing: A headless ticketing workflow integrated with Paystack, allowing instant booking, automated multi-attendee registration, and unique receipt generation. 4. On-Site Admin Portal: An password-protected administrator dashboard displaying real-time metrics (ticket counts, attendees, revenue) and event attendee checklists. 5. Centralized Hub: Dedicated, unified pathways for project showcases, volunteer applications, and donations.

Synchronized Hijri-Gregorian Scheduling
To cater to Kano's youth demographics, the site features a custom dual calendar that overlays Islamic lunar dates onto standard Gregorian timelines, specifically highlighting fasting days ('White Days') alongside event bookings.
